Greetings and thank you for visiting Mahogany Skin Care! Our mantra is “Wellness is a lifestyle.” and our philosophy on skin care is “If it’s not safe enough to eat, why put it on your skin?”

Our beginnings stem from Origins Massage Spa, the first establishment to use food-based ingredients in all spa treatments. As the spa grew, our desire for providing our clients with amazing products and information did as well.

As a response to many requests for body products, we launched Mahogany Skin Care, the Spa Edition. This line featured natural and handmade products such as candles, shower disks, bath bombs and herbal bath soaks infused with high quality essential oils, green tea, coconut oil and other natural ingredients.

Today our sole focus revolves around providing an endless flow of tips that can improve the quality of life, even for the busiest schedule. Our experts include licensed massage therapists and those specializing in fitness, health, nutrition, spa, meditation, spirituality and yes having a lot of fun! We have a special page featuring various DIY Spa Recipes for you to sample! Wellness is an every day effort and promise to ourselves that in a society that’s so stressed out, we have to create a stress-free zone.

Meet the Owner of Mahogany Skin Care, Ebony S. Muhammad!

EBONY--300x211

As a former basketball player, track & field competitor and collegiate cheerleader, I understand the importance of body performance and muscle function.

I have my certification in grief and stress management, therefore, the capacity to be compassionate and understanding is a part of my foundation enabling me to be one of the most well-rounded and versatile massage and spa therapist in the industry.

I have extensive training and experience in some of the most luxurious spas as well as affordable massage clinics in the country. As one who specializes in cosmetic chemistry, I’ve learned the elements of food-based products and ingredients for spa treatments that not only aids the health and wellness of the client, but also brings awareness to the harmful ingredients that mainstream cosmetic lines use.  My philosophy is, “If it’s not safe enough to eat, why put it on your skin?”

My dietary and nutritional practice stems directly from How To Eat To Live, written by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He states regarding eating the proper food at the proper time:

Not only does it give us good health, but it gives us a better way of thinking, as food and our mental power work in the same way.

I assist clients with selecting healthier food choices to combat their current physical/emotional ailments. Often the stress-related complaints and muscle tension clients suffer from are due to a poor diet, lack of physical fitness, and unhealthy lifestyle (alcohol, heavy workloads, poor sleeping habits, etc.)

Therefore, I help clients between sessions to maximize their quality of life, because to be well one must learn how to live well. I take the time to not only educate my clients, but I also continue my education due to the ongoing evolution of the health and wellness industry.

Thank you for visiting Mahogany Skin Care! We hope you enjoy the wealth of knowledge, tips, recipes, images, and lifestyle!
